Palm Sunday commemorates the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem (Matthew 21:1-9),
when palm branches were placed in his path as it was foretold that the nation of Judah would line the street leading up to the entrance of the Temple of God at the beginning of Passover every year. (Zec 9:9) spoke of how the Savior then would ride in on an unladen donkey. The palm branches and donkey were symbols of peace for the nation and not war.
