Service Times

Lamb of God offers both traditional and contemporary services.

Dear Beloved Lamb of God members, parents, teachers, and students,

The Lord is my Rock and my Salvation. Psalm 62:2

The news has been continuously buzzing regarding the COVID 19 virus. The status of this virus has moved from epidemic to pandemic. We are now having to move forward in our level of concern as Spain has now shut its borders.

I have heard from the President of the LCMS and he acknowledges that we must be mindful of the 4th commandment and respect and listen to our Government as they deal with the virus so that we do not reach the levels experienced in China, Italy and now Spain.  With all of these developing situations, I canceled my scheduled vacation for this next week so that  I can be around and on site this week to help with our school and the children being checked in and out.

The concern is growing, and I believe it is becoming difficult to see a clear line between panic and prevention. I want you to know that our staff at Lamb of God is daily actively working through our plan with the prayers of protection, prevention, and a spiritual practice that reflects our faith while honoring God and one another.

MOVING FORWARD

We are enacting our third -phase response plan allowing us to respond to the current and potentially changing situation.

Please continue to watch for updates via email blasts and Facebook.

As of 3/14/2020 @1:00pm   This Sunday we will continue to have both worship services at 8 am and 10:30am.  These services will also be accessible on through our Facebook page.  We are asking that everyone observes social distancing. What that means is we will actively try to eliminate any unnecessary contact with other individuals.  This will include our children’s message.  Our children’s message will continue, only we will ask that each child will stay within their respective family and not come forward during worship.  During worship, there will be no childcare provide.  I will ask that families will worship together.  The kid’s activity bags will not be accessible, but there will be coloring sheets and crayons available for use.  Please take them with you when leaving or throw them away.  We will also ask that if you take a bulletin, please either take it with you, or throw it away in the trash bin. We will not be reusing the bulletins.

We WILL be canceling ALL bible classes on Sundays and on weekdays for the next 2 weeks.  There will be no donuts or coffee provided to limit our social interaction with each other. I know this will be difficult as we are a very loving congregation and we enjoy each other’s company.  Children’s handbell choir, adult vocal choir and handbell practices will be cancelled  for the next two weeks.

Our next step has already arrived as we increased our cleaning regiment and availability of hand sanitizer, our housekeeper Gloria put extra time into cleaning of the sanctuary to provide the ultimate cleanliness.
The staff this Sunday will be sanitizing the pews, communion rails, door handles, bathrooms and anything commonly contacted by individuals before and between both worship services.  Access to the bible study classrooms and offices will be limited as we will not be holding classes.

Worship service will be live streamed on Facebook and on youtube so that those who choose to stay home will have the opportunity to worship and to hear the ever-necessary Word of God.

As of 3/14/2020 @1:00pm after speaking with Jule’ our director of LoG ECC and other staff we are planning the full-time section of the ECC will continue to be open and the part-time section will also be open.  This will be reevaluated daily as attendance and availability of teachers might change.  We have many health care worker children attending our school and I believe we must try to help them by staying open so they can help others who really need it.

We have planned for our teachers to have sitters for their own children, so they all will be able to work at LOG ECC.

Staff will be greeting parents and kids at the doors before entering to triage teachers, parents and children to ensure they are healthy.  No unnecessary individuals will be allowed in the facility.  If a child or teacher shows up sick, they will be sent home immediately.

We need to keep our eyes focused on the cross of Christ and Honoring God through following the ten commandments. Through Christ’s works we are saved.  Our hope is in the Lord.  Be mindful of one another. Help one another and continue to go to God in prayer that he may give wisdom and guidance to our President Trump, Governor Abbott and all government leaders, that God may give skill and watch over all medical professionals as they seek to assist others and that God may watch over and protect us as we continue to serve others when they are in need.

I want us to remember what Luther said about God’s Word regarding the 4th commandment as we are called to,

“Honor our father and mother, that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.

What does this mean?

We should fear and love God that we do not dishonor or anger our parents and others in authority over us, but honor, serve, and obey them, and give them love and respect.”

Please be aware that the situation in Houston and America changes daily. We at Lamb of God completely respect the positions of the CDC and our federal and local government in their actions to reduce the spread of this Corona Virus.    We will continue to make updates to our policies as needed.  God bless and keep you all.

We will continue to serve all men wholeheartedly as if we are serving the Lord himself.

Ephesians 6:7

This service is led by our worship leaders and praise ensemble, guiding our congregation in a blend of contemporary praise songs and praise choruses. Messages are gospel-centered and life applicable.
